Unfortunately the girlfriend role needed to be changed due to the original female has become unavailable.I replaced the main girlfriend with another female Actress who is black and fits well as the role of the Girlfriend.

Meeting and Establishing dance choreography to other dancers

Today I decided to hold a meeting with the dancers and Artist. Within the meeting, I am going to introduce the cast to each other which enables filming to be more productive and it also removes the nerves that others may have with acting and dancing in front of each other and the crew.  

Meeting objectives  

• Introduce cast
• fill them in on the different location, concept and dancing 
• showcase their dancing to each other 
• finalise group dances 
• establish costumes needed 
• finalise shooting days in order to make sure the day is convenient for everyone

I contacted everyone individually first, so I can inform them about the meeting. next, I confirmed the meeting date and time on the group chat via snapchat. The meeting was productive as I was able to sort out the dance and clarify most of the dance. The next meeting that will take place is with Levi (ty) and Ruth (girlfriend) as I am going to start filming scenes after I brief them. To conclude, I provided each individual with a brief which clarified the days they need to be available to shot.

ORGANISE MY USB FOR THE FILMING: PRE- PRODUCTION

Today in the lesson I organised my USB in preparation for the music video filming. I created a folder called music video footage. The fact that all the work is in one folder makes it easier for me to edit and easy to locate files. Secondly, I created 4 other folders which are named after the location that I am going to film at. An advantage of using this method to organise is that the files will not be mixed up and hard to find where I filmed as after each day of shooting I will organise and sort each individual file into the       right location

GROUPCHAT: SNAPCHAT

In order to organise my music video, I created a group chat using the online application snapshot. Snapchat is a mobile messaging service from Snap Inc. that sends a photo or video to someone that lasts only up to 10 seconds before it disappears. During that time, the recipient can take a screenshot, and the sender is notified that it was taken.

The screenshots show me organising and asking for the availability of the dancers and actors. Furthermore, I explained whats happening in regards to meeting and filming the music video. The information I gathered helped decide which days to film the dancers with the main artist as well as film with just the artist. 

TESTING OUT LIGHTING: 0103-EB PORTABLE SITE LIGHT 220-240V

The second light that I used was the 0103-EB PORTABLE SITE LIGHT 220-240V. The light is used at building sites in order to illuminate the surrounding area. The light needs a generator or plug socket in order to be powered. A disadvantage of the light is that it is only portable to a certain extent and always relies on the plug which becomes an issue when I am filming in Soho and Waterloo.

I used the light in the classroom with the blinds down to see the extent of light that filled the room. The light is powerful and filled majority of the room however it created shadows. Shadows will create issues within the shot and it will look unprofessional.

Definition: Copyright Clearance. Clearing copyright means the act or process by which a person ensures a proposed use of materials is in compliance with copyright law.

 In order to ensure that I am able to use the song for the music video, I emailed the record label and explained that I am a student from Leyton Sixth Form who is creating a music video. I decided to email ovo sound record and I am currently waiting for a response.

CHOREOGRAPHY : Pre-Production

The choreography is the sequence of steps and movements in dance or figure skating, especially in a ballet or other staged dance. Whilst creating the dance I watched dance videos in order to gather inspiration for my music video as well as adopt specific dance steps. The video shows the main artist TY recreating the beginning steps for the video as it focuses on him solely.

Today I decided to organise the dance choreography. The video that is shown depicts the start of the music video. We also established that we want a more commercial style with hints of contemporary and elements of the street.
