casting call poster: Pre-production

I created a casting call and sent the poster to my friends to see who would be interested in being part of the music video.

Todays lesson I organised the tasks and work that i need to provide for the pre production "logistics"

Lyrics

I decided to print out the lyrics and organise what actions and lipsync are going to occur at each part. I started by dividing the lyrics into sections and started placing locations. The next thing I did was start placing lines was I need only the artist lipsyncing. This technique helped me organise the narrative in regards to the lyrics.

EVALUATION OF TREATMENT

Evaluation: 

Regarding the presentational aspect of the treatment, I believe that I conducted myself confidently as well as articulate due to being able to explain the idea to the audience clearly. I also feel like my presentation covered the key parts of the treatment as I addressed the cast, narrative, length and case studies that inspired me.Personally, I feel that my presentation was short and some parts were vague however I was able to cover the elements that weren't shown in the presentation. 

The questions that the audience asked was what type of shots am I going to use for my concept being solely based on dance. I decided to use a range of close up, medium shots and longshots in order to emphasise the dancing. The editing I was also going to use was a fast cutting rate which matches the song

LOVE GALORE LIP SYNC FINAL PIECE

EDITING LOVE GALORE

In today's lesson, we edited the video. Firstly, we had to upload our files on to premiere pro, Then download the audio to go over the lip syncing and footage.

I and my group match the lip sync to the footage. Personally, this was the hardest part of timing was crucial. Next, we added other visuals without lip-syncing this was to make sure we met the 1-minute mark as well as making it more visual. 

The last part of the work was using text. me and my group decided to make the clip look like an old movie with the conventional subtitle.It was hard to centre the text, this is a aspect that i am going to improve on whilst creating the final piece.

LOVE GALORE FILMING TASK

I and my group started filming our 1 minute Love Galore lip sync video. We decided to choose the song as it is a similar style of song I would like to do.  The most important element I think that is important is location. The location that we decided to choose was a field this was due to the natural and slow the song is. I decided to experiment and film an establishing shot of the artist and her surroundings. Personally, I liked the overall look of the shot however it needed to be more stable. I and my group weren't able to use a tripod however if we did the video would have been more smooth.

Camera induction lesson + Song selection

In today's  lesson, we were reintroduced with the DSLR cameras in which we used in AS. The task is to film a one minute video of lip syncing.

NIKON D7100 DSLR:  Camera is 24 megapixels which means it is a high resolution camera.

The camera includes an LCD screen as well as various modes. When taking images you need to look through the viewfinder in order to see, this means framing is key. I also learnt about zooming as well as creating a blurred video by changing the depth of field.
